Sharjah24: The Sharjah Police team was crowned football and volleyball champions in the sixth Sharjah Labour Sports Tournament, in the sports stadiums in Sharjah National Park.
More than 2,000 players participated in the event organised by the Sharjah Labor Standards Development Authority last January.
The tournament was organized to deepen the bonds between workers in the labor sector in Sharjah and show what they are made of via various sports competitions such as football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, and hockey.
Sharjah Police won the title in the football competition, ranked first in the volleyball competition, and fourth in the hockey. In addition, Jaber Mohammed was chosen as the best goalkeeper in the football championship, and Adel Abdul Karim Ali was picked as the best football coach.
Major Ahmed Mubarak Al-Junaibi expressed his gratitude to the Sharjah Labor Standards for hosting such an event, which strengthens the bonds between all segments of society, especially the workers, for they are a fundamental element in the emirate's sustainable development process.
