Sharjah24: Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, attended the closing ceremony of the Sharjah Prize for the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah 25, at the Al Qasimia University Theater, which the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment organised.
122 contestants in the Noble Qur’an competition were honored, and 45 contestants in the Sunnah competition honoring the best eight Quranic circles and a special Quranic center.
Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Est, delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony, praising the Establishmet’s role in teaching the Holy Qur’an through Quranic centers and circles in Sharjah, and holding Quranic competitions throughout the year to encourage Quran memorisation.
In his speech, he touched on the “My Vacation with the Qur’an” initiative, which consists of Quranic circles for university students and whoever has difficulties attending the circles during weekdays. The special circles are held every Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
Sheikh Dr. Aziz Farhan Al Anzi, Chairman of the Competition’s Jury, delivered a speech praising the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the Sharjah Award for the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah. He went on urging the winners to embrace the knowledge they gained from the Holy Qur’an and the hadiths.
After that, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid kindly presented shields of honour and certificates of appreciation to the sponsors and supporters.
After that, the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah arbitration committees were honoured, along with the competition winners.
Al Sahaba Charity Center was also honoured as the best private Quranic center during the ceremony.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi received a souvenir from the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, in appreciation of his honoring of the winners of the twenty-fifth edition.
