International Women’s Day is a celebration of women around the world and their achievements in various fields and is an opportunity to recognize their vital role in shaping society - in line with Sharjah Ladies Club's vision and ethos to promote female empowerment.
Duaa Al Mahri, the club’s Director of Corporate Communications, said: “International Women’s Day is a chance for Sharjah Ladies Club to emphasize and celebrate the contributions of women and the importance of female empowerment. We are keen to participate in all international events that celebrate women and aim to create an environment that supports them. We want to promote opportunities for growth, self-improvement and self-expression while providing a safe ambiance for women in the region.”
As part of the event, Fitness 180 promoted relaxation and meditation with yoga and sound therapy sessions on the beach, led by top trainer Aksana. Community and educational counsellor Hamsa Younes also conducted interactive counselling workshops for the participants, entitled ‘Breaking Prejudice Starts from the Family’.
Other club facilities also took part with activities and special offers, most notably, discounted annual membership packages. Collage Talent Center took bookings for art workshops such as pottery making, while Dalouk Wellness Spa and Orchid Beauty Boutique offered exclusive deals on selected services and treatments.
