According to the Foundation's Head of Psychological Services, Maryam Malallah, "Since the widow is the first and last responsible for the needs and providing care for the children, widowed mothers were targeted in the "Riwaa" programme and work was done to empower and rehabilitate them so that they would have a positive and effective role in raising children and guiding them through all stages of their lives.”
One of the members of the Foundation shared her story with the new mothers of orphans who joined the Foundation and quoted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as saying, "Today, two-thirds of government employees are women, two-thirds of our national university graduates are women, and one-third of the cabinet members are women. We do not empower women; we empower society through women."
Notably, the "Riwaa" programme is one of the initiatives designed to provide orphan mothers with the tools they need to provide their children with a better education by improving their psychological health.
