Sharjah24: The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club will host a four-day reading festival at its headquarters on the first Wednesday of March under the motto "I am an athlete, I read."
The event is organised by the Sharjah Sports Council in collaboration with the Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States in Sharjah and sports and specialised clubs in Sharjah's central area.
The cultural festival would be hosted by the Emirates Heritage Club, Al Qasimi Publishing, the Sharjah Department of Culture, and several publishing and distribution houses.
The event seeks to inculcate a reading culture among sports team participants, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, and Ruler of Sharjah.
It also includes a book fair, cultural cafés, reading activities, workshops, and cultural competitions with valuable awards.
