Sharjah24: Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” carried out 70 field and promotional visits to a number of industrial establishments in Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing permanent communication with the industrial sector and the business community. During the visits, the workflow in the factories and their production and export programs was reviewed, and direct communication was enhanced between the Department and the owners of industrial establishments to learn about their aspirations and the most important needs and challenges they face in order to sustain and develop the industrial sector and its activities.
In the last visit, the Department’s delegation visited the International Beverage & Filling Industries C.L.L., and inspected the workflow in the factory and its production and export programs, in addition to the marketing and promotion plans approved by them to enter the regional markets. Also, SEDD delegation reviewed the mechanism of managing factories and the functioning of approved production lines supported by high-quality technical mechanisms. They also discussed a number of issues related to the reality of the industrial sector. During the visit, they reviewed the most important needs of the industrial sector in Sharjah.

Commenting on that, Maryam Nasir Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs Department at SEDD, stressed on the importance of such visits which comes within SEDD’s methodology for direct communication with its partners in the industrial sector. She added that Department seeks to enhance cooperation and support all local partners in the priority national industrial sectors, and to discuss ways to provide additional capabilities for projects in a way that supports its strategic plans and enhances the industrial sector in the emirate. These visits are part of the Department's attempt to enhance permanent and continuous communication with the local business community, and to get acquainted closely with the reality of the economic sectors in general and the industrial sector in particular, by exchanging views and visuals and mutual work to overcome any challenges that may hinder the growth and prosperity of industrial establishments, as well as discussing level of quality of services provided to them.

Al Suwaidi also praised the efforts of the industrial establishments in Sharjah, the large and advanced capabilities of the factories, and their contribution to the industrial development in the country. She also emphasized SEDD’s interest to support the growth of national industries and enhance their competitiveness and contribution to sustainable economic growth in the emirate in particular and UAE in general.

On the other hand, Sheikh Saoud Mohammed Al Qassimi, Deputy Head of Industrial Investment Section, highlighted SEDD’s concerns to enhance the elements of success for the owners of factories and establishments in a way that contributes to the sustainability and development of companies and factories. Such thing helps to develop the industrial sector in the emirate through implementing such frequent field visits, which would enhance the strategic partnership with private sector and address their needs in order to provide an ideal business environment in the emirate and attract more investments in the industrial sector.

He illustrated that the industrial sector in the emirate has solid foundations that include advanced infrastructure, technical capabilities, and an attractive system for investments, smart capital, and human resources. He pointed out the emirate also offers advantages through laws and legislations, which are factors that support the department's efforts to implement its strategy. This helps to achieve comprehensive economic development and develop a competitive business environment by strengthening institutional capabilities in order to reach a diversified and sustainable competitive economy that achieves economic well-being for the business community in cooperation with strategic partners.

For their part, the owners of factories and industrial facilities praised the visits of SEDD delegation. Also, they stressed the importance to continue working so that their factories contribute effectively to providing added value to the industrial sector in Sharjah and to support the efforts of the emirate government aimed at activating the role of the private sector to be a strategic partner in achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah. Likely, they praised SEDD’s support to the private sector establishments, and its relentless keenness and tireless efforts to promote national exports, in a way that contributes to the development of the industrial sector, serving its workers in the best way, and providing them with appropriate support in a more effective manner.
