Sharjah Municipality: 94,000 late contracts receive 50% discount

Sharjah24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) has commended the decision to extend the time period during which the 50% discount on late leasing contracts in the emirate may be enjoyed, as announced by Sharjah's Executive Council, headed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Council.
Over the course of 2022, the municipality reported that it had validated 294 thousand lease contracts of different kinds. Of these, 94,000 were signed by owners who took advantage of the resolution to give a 50% discount on late lease contracts and new contracts.
Sharjah Municipality Director General Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji said that the decision shows the emirate's role in providing different facilities for residents and investors and in strengthening its global position. This is because of the emirate's attractive environment for living and investing, as well as the quality facilities and services it offers. All of these are the result of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah's visions, directives, and support, as well as the follow-through of His Highness's He highlighted that the extending of the discount period through February 1, 2023, only applies to rental agreements in force prior to January 1, 2023.
