Sharjah 24: Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival continued its nineteenth edition, as the Sharjah Culture Palace witnessed Wednesday evening the third poetry evening in the festival, in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Department, Mohammed Al Buraiki, Director of the House of Poetry and many poets, artists, media and poetry lovers.
The evening, which was presented by the Saudi poet and intellectual Mufreh Al-Shaqi, witnessed the participation of seven poets: Rawda Al-Hajj from Sudan, Hazbar Mahmoud from Iraq, Talal Al-Junaibi from the UAE, Hawra Al-Hamili from Saudi Arabia, Moulay Ali Weld Al-Hassan from Mauritania, Husam Al-Sheikh from the Sultanate of Oman and Rabeh Falah from Algeria.

In a ceremony held at the Cultural Palace, the Saudi poet Hasan Al-Zahrani signed his book "Sarnama", which won the Sharjah Award for Arabic Poetry 2023 within the “Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival " in its nineteenth edition, in the presence of an audience of critics, researchers, poets, media professionals and those interested in poetry.

As part of the festival’s activities, the House of Poetry witnessed Wednesday an intellectual symposium titled “Poetry between Expression and Influence”, which saw the presence of a large number of poets, intellectuals and writers. Tunisian critic Lama’a Al-Aqrabi moderated the first session, while Dr. Mahmoud Al-Dabaa moderated the second session.

The interventions during the symposium dealt in their entirety with the idea of aesthetic communication with the new transformations in societies amid the interaction of the ancient poetry audience.
