The project was about reflecting on Sharjah’s seashore, digging into its historical meanings, and the modern view of the same shore with all the development it witnessed under the direction of “Shurooq”.
Roldan stated that, along with Fatma and several AUS students, in order to create the exhibition, he had to travel back to the past and try to understand the forgotten meaning of Sharjah’s seaside and how Shurooq managed to re-engage with it through new infrastructures.
During an interview with “Sharjah 24”, Roldan explained that with the new element of social reactivation with Sharjah seaside, the shore could reconnect to the land with engaging activities that would attract Sharjah citizens and residents.
