“Shams Talks” hosts Ahmed Al Qaseer

Sharjah 24: “Shams Talks” hosted His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).
Based on its pioneering role in promoting the media sector in various fields and introducing the achievements of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sharjah Media City "Shams" presented, through “Shams Talks” podcast, several interviews with officials, experts and prominent figures, with the aim of enhancing communication in the media field. The podcast shed light on the most prominent media and economic challenges.

In an interview, “Shams Talks” hosted His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). The interview addressed several economic, tourism and investment topics.  It tackled how laws and legislation have contributed to promoting projects to enhance the role of the Emirate of Sharjah in terms of local and foreign investments; what is Shurooq role in promoting these projects; what are the most important sectors that the Authority focuses on; and what is the fastest growing sector currently.

His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer stressed that the events and conferences hosted by Sharjah reflect the image of the emirate and highlight the opportunities available, and today it is the leader in various fields. 

His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer pointed out that figures confirm that the Emirate of Sharjah is an important and distinctive investment environment. The most important components currently are security, stability and flexibility in governments, as well as legislations that help in the growth of investments. 

Al Qaseer pointed out that the infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates is the best in various fields, such as transportation, communications, airlines and ports, and the Emirate of Sharjah ranked fifth globally in the of increase of investments and emerging companies. He stated that Sharjah today leads the first and highest ranks in various fields such as culture and tourism, whereas the Emirate of Sharjah enjoys a distinctive geographical diversity that includes its strategic location and vital ports, in addition to the commercial activity and prominent cultural sites that characterise Sharjah. While the central region is characterised by sand dunes and antiquities such as the Mleiha area, which contains antiquities dating back more than 200 thousand years, as well as the Eastern region such as Kalba, Khorfakkan and Dibba Al Hisn, which has a dazzling beauty. 

Al Qaseer explained that Shurooq is based on a clear strategy, characterised by comprehensiveness and integration, and focuses on four main and central sectors, which are the real estate development, hospitality, commercial and entertainment centres, and arts and culture. This strategy aims to establish the elements of sustainability and stimulate innovation. Shurooq also plays an important role in supporting Emirati youth and entrepreneurship projects, in addition to enhancing the role of the “Invest in Sharjah” office to attract foreign investments, which contributes to consolidating Sharjah’s position as a distinguished economic and tourism hub.
