Sharjah24: Mr. Ahmed Al-Bairaq, Director of the Institutional Communication Department at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) has highlighted media’s significant role in preserving heritage from generation to generation, serving as a prominent component of national identity.
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), Dibba Al-Hisn branch, organised, on Tuesday, at the Cultural Center, a symposium entitled "Heritage Media between Stereotypes and Loss of Identity", as part of the Institute's educational activities aimed at preserving tangible and intangible heritage.

Emirati artist Dr. Habib Ghuloom, the journalist Abdullah Al-Shehhi, and Ahmed Al-Bairaq, Director of the Institutional Communication Department at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), participated in the symposium. The dialogue was moderated by the media figure, Hussein Al-Amiri.

Al-Bairaq stressed in his statement to “Sharjah 24” that the symposium, which included an art exhibition with a display of popular games; touched on the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah in conserving heritage and preserving identity, through the academic events and programs of the Institute.

He added that a group of heritage specialists from several institutions participated in the symposium, which highlighted the paramount importance of the media's role in preserving heritage and transmitting it between generations properly through experts and specialists.
