Sharjah24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) organised a workshop, in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah (AUS), discussing current and future challenges and research directions in the fields of energy and water during the next stage, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Authority and the University in the research field with the aim of continuous development of projects and services provided by the Authority.

The workshop was attended by a number of department directors, department heads, engineers, researchers, and those interested in research projects.

Engineer Mayada Salem Al-Bardan, Director of the Research and Studies Department at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, explained that the Authority is keen to strengthen partnerships with academic institutions, contributing to the implementation of specialised studies and research in several areas, supporting the Authority’s endeavors to develop all administrative, technical and specialised fields, with developing skills and capabilities.

Lauding the main topics that were introduced during the workshop, Al-Bardan stressed that scientific research is one of the most important means that the authority relies on in achieving development and progress.

At the end of the workshop, the Authority honoured a number of winning students in the competition, which is organised in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah, including two different categories.
