Sharjah24: Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, received Javier Tebas, President of the Spanish League (La Liga); Oscar Mayo, Executive Director of the La Liga; and Khaled Shaqwara, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at Granada Club.
The meeting was attended by Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; Chairman of the Professionalism Committee of the Council; and Saeed Ali Al Ajal, the sports expert in the Council.
During the meeting, they discussed the establishment of a multidisciplinary sports university for the Spanish club in Sharjah in cooperation with "La Liga," the first of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa, and the world. The Council also received Granada Club's delegation, headed by Sophia Yang, President of Granada CF.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi affirmed that sport is integral to the world's culture. Therefore, discussing cooperation in this sector is necessary to enhance cultural and knowledge exchange between the Emirate of Sharjah and Spanish cities.
Sheikh Fahim explained that this project would contribute to enhancing the sports culture among youngsters and provides them with a unique opportunity to benefit from the experiences of elite specialists in this field.
