Sharjah24: The Arab Combined Cycling Championship will kick off in Sharjah, from December 16 to 27, with more than 400 participants representing 17 Arab countries.
There are 3 categories in the championship: road, mountain racing, and people with disabilities race.
During a press conference at Sharjah Sports Council headquarters, Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of The Arab Cycling Federation, confirmed that the federation has tried for nearly 16 years to officially adopt the tournament on the agenda of the Union Cycliste Internationale. It has succeeded in doing so, making the championship qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yasser Al Dokhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Cycling Federation and Director of the championship, explained that the races would be held over 10 days with 30 different races. The competitions will be held in the Nizwa and Kalba, which will witness major races, including the road race for adults.
The championship would include 8 officially approved and qualified races with points to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
