Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, attended the Sharjah Arab Scientific, Cultural and Sports Forum at the Cultural Palace , which was held on the occasion of Sharjah’s obtaining Capital of Sports Culture Arabia award for the year 2022.
The theme of the forum was "Our Culture Brings Us Together" and included two sessions; the first, titled "Cultural and Sports Empowerment," was moderated by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Sultan, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council Board of Directors and Chairman of the Strategic Foresight Committee, and the second, titled "Sports and Quality of Life," was moderated by His Excellency Abdullah bin Maleh, Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Studies and Research Committee.
The forum was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mualla, Vice President of the International Federation, President of the Arab Federation and Sharjah Chess Club; His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; His Excellency Khaled Issa Al Midfa, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Authority for Sports; His Excellency Ashraf Mahmoud, President of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture along with members of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Sports Capital of Culture Award and a delegation of Arab youth representing 15 countries.
During the forum, the President and members of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture and the Board of Trustees of the Award were honoured, and the participants in the two forum sessions were: His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani, Vice President of the Sharjah Sports Council; Dr. Abdullah bin Sultan, Chairman of the Strategic Foresight Committee of the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Abdullah bin Malih, Chairman of the Studies and Research Committee; artist Sameh Al-Suraiti, member of the Award’s Board of Trustees; Ahmed Saad Al-Sharif, Vice President of the International Federation of Sports for All; Dr. Saad Shalaby, Professor of Sports Economics at Mansoura University; Hind Ibrahim Al Hosani, Deputy Director of the Sharjah Sports Club for Women; Maryam Youssef Al Hosani, Director of the Strategic Planning and Performance Department.
Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sport Council welcomed the audience, lauded the support and interest of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and he highlighted the keenness of the Sharjah Sports Council to honor the winners and the representatives of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture by hosting events that spotlight on both the cultural and sporting aspects.
