Government football championship to launch on Wednesday

Sharjah24: The 24th championship for government bodies, institutions and departments for football will launch on Wednesday which is organised by Sharjah Government Employees Club in cooperation with Al-Thiqa Club for the Disabled and under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council.
16 teams representing government departments and institutions in Sharjah,  will take part in the stadiums of Al-Thiqa Club for the Disabled. The competition will  kick off with a strong match between the teams of the Department of Islamic Affairs (DIA) and the Department of Planning and Survey (DPS) . In the second match, the Sharjah Police General Command team will meet the Sharjah Education Council. The draw resulted in dividing the teams into four groups. The first group includes the teams of the Department of Planning and Survey, the Department of Islamic Affairs, the General Command of Sharjah Police and the Council of Sharjah Education, while the second group includes the teams of the Department of Social Services The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Al Hamriyah City Municipality, Kalba City Municipality, and the third group is the teams of the Roads and Transport Authority, the Sharjah International Airport Authority, the Sharjah Academy of Police Sciences and the Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled. The fourth group includes the teams of the General Administration of the Emiri Guard, the Sharjah Cooperative Society, the Human Resources Department and the Sharjah Investment Authority (Shurooq).

Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, confirmed that the tournament comes within a series of tournaments organized by the Sharjah Government Employees Club to achieve the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, pointing out that the aim is to develop the spirit competitiveness among participants .
