Sharjah24 : The College of Dental Medicine (CDM) at the University of Sharjah (UOS) has organised the White Coat Ceremony for 140 dental students who have passed their foundation stage, with the aim of reinforcing their role and preparing them for the integration into their future medical occupation, in the midst of a joyous atmospheric alongside the presence of faculty, administrative members and student’s parents at the Medical and Health Sciences Campus, UOS.
Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and Founder of the University of Sharjah, and to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, for their guidance and continuous support to the UOS, as well as thanked His Excellency, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, for generously supporting the college. He also congratulated students on joining this field that supports dentistry, stating that the UoS provides student’s various needs based on the best accredited international standards.

For his part, Prof. Ahmad Mohammad Hamdan, Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, pointed out the importance of the Dental profession and highlighted the need to keep abreast of the latest development around the world in this field, wishing students all success in their journey to become distinguished dentists to serve the society. During the ceremony, Prof. Sausan Al Kawas, Vice Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, urged students to adhere to the professional ethics and best practices in Dentistry. At the end of the ceremony, students wore their white coat and took an oath to represent their commitment as students to the dental profession.
