Sharjah24: Sheikh Salem bin AbdulRahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ruler’s Office, on Thursday, attended the launch of the accompanying international exhibitions, as part of the activities of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial (SCB), at the Sharjah Art Museum.
Chairman of Sharjah Ruler’s Office toured in a group of three exhibitions, namely: Contemporary Exhibitions, Islamic Art of Decoration “Hymn of Gold” Exhibition, and Other Cultures Exhibition, listening to detailed explanations of the works presented by the exhibitions, which reflected the development of the experience of working on Arabic calligraphy by a large group of calligraphers and artists, under motto "Irtiqa".
At the beginning of his tour, Sheikh Salem bin AbdulRahman Al Qasimi stopped at the contemporary exhibitions, which bring together a number of artists from the United Arab Emirates and other countries of the world, presenting their various paintings of installation works, video, and the use of different materials such as cloth, wood, cardboard, painted wood and others.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi was acquainted with the various works contained in the exhibition that reflected the creativity of the participants in employing different techniques to serve their main ideas that show the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and innovative artworks.
During his tour, Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi visited the "Golden Hymn" exhibition, where he reviewed the works submitted by the artists, and learned what they symbolize, and what Islamic decorative arts reflect, their various schools, creativity and innovations of the participants.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi concluded his tour by visiting the “Other Cultures” exhibition, which presents Arabic calligraphy with international touches, through distinguished experiences of artists from different countries of the world who do not speak Arabic, united by the love of calligraphy, who excelled in its field, and learned about its aesthetics and secrets.
Chairman of Sharjah Ruler’s Office was briefed on the works of the artists participating in the exhibition, whose works adopt a variety of lines, where he was acquainted with their submitted works, which varied between the use of cotton paper, black ink, dyed papers, watercolor illustrations, gilding, and others.
