Following rendition of the national anthem and recitation from the holy Quran, Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Establishment for Al Quran Al Kareem and Al Sunnah Al Nabawiyyah, gave a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi for his presence and honouring the ceremony and the winners.
He highlighted the great and unlimited efforts of the UAE wise leadership in general, and in the Emirate of Sharjah in particular, who spared no effort or money to support educational institutions to take the country to higher ranks in the field of science and culture, to serve the citizens and the resident of the UAE.
“The Emirate of Sharjah has received a long and generous care and support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with the support and culture of all kinds, particularly the Holy Quran sessions held in the different mosques of the emirate Sharjah supervised by the Establishment, where the number of male and female students has reached more than thirty thousand, from all age groups,” Sheikh Salem added.
The Chairman of the Establishment's Board of Directors reviewed the Establishment's activities, events, and the various awards that it is preparing, supervising and organising for several categories and sectors, such as male and female students, staff and others.
The number of participants in the award’s two editions’ various categories reached approximately 2,500 male and female contestants, 250 of whom won, while the number of those who fully memorised the holy Quran reached 768 during 2020-2021; 193 of them passed the test.
After that, the audience watched a visual presentation that highlighted the mission and work of the Establishment and its efforts in establishing and organising competitions for the memorisation of the holy Quran, in addition to the award’s various activities and events.
For his part, Dr. Aziz Farhan Al Anzii, Chairman of the Jury of the award, delivered a speech in which he hailed the great and sincere efforts of the wise leadership to facilitate the memorisation of the holy Quran and the honourable Sunnah, urging members of the community to continue to study and memorise the holy Quran and the Sunnah. He congratulated the winners and their parents for their support of their children to memorise the holy Quran.
Then, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman honoured the winners of the twenty-third and twenty-fourth cycles, and presented them with shields and certificates of appreciation.
At the close of the ceremony, Sheikh Salem presented commemorative shields to each of the sponsors and personalities who support the award from public and private institutions and media agencies.
The Head of the Ruler's Office also received a memorial gift from the Establishment in appreciation of his kindness to honour the ceremony and the winners.
Several officials, parents of winners and scholars attended the honouring ceremony.
