Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Qasimi toured the exhibition, which includes more than 130 diverse artworks documented through Ismail Khayat’s artistic career of nearly six decades.
During his tour, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Qasimi listened to a detailed explanation about the works and sections in the exhibition, and was acquainted with the various works presented by the artist, during a long journey in the art world, considering he is one of the most prominent artists in the Arab world, and an icon of Kurdish art.
Ismail Khayat is considered one of the most prolific artists, as he was known as the grandfather of Kurdish art. He also contributed, through more than 7,000 distinguished artworks, to the establishment of the Iraqi art movement in his town, drawing inspiration from his local surroundings and trips.
The exhibition, which will run until November 27, is part of a series of ‘Lasting Impressions’ exhibitions that the Sharjah Art Museum holds annually.
