Al Qaseer revealed the details of the tenth edition of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, where a grand prize , 3 prizes for original calligraphy, 3 others for contemporary calligraphy, and one for Emirati calligrapher from the jury members will be presented in the Biennial.
Director of Cultural Affairs at the Department of Culture in Sharjah stated in statements to "Sharjah 24", that the Biennial will present a number of technical lectures and various workshops, in addition to the international symposium with the participation of a number of calligraphers from around the world.
He explained that a number of Arabic calligraphy figures will be honoured as they print their impact on the calligraphic and creative arena, including His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs; Hamdi Zayed from Egypt, and the late Iraqi artist Sadiq Al Douri.
