Sharjah24: The Sharjah Ladies Club, Kalba Branch, hosted, on Thursday, the mobile bus of the Pink Caravan, one of the initiatives of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, with the aim of raising awareness for early detection of breast cancer.
Safia Othman Al-Baroudi, the official spokesperson for the Sharjah Women's Clubs branches in the Eastern Province, said that hosting the convoy stems from the club's keenness to support community efforts to enhance awareness and preventive culture.
In statements to “Sharjah 24”, she explained that preparing to receive the bus included pre-registration for those wishing to conduct the necessary checks, pointing to a remarkable interaction of women in Kalba with the initiative.
Al Baroudi added that the examinations included a clinical and radiological examination through a "mammogram", under the supervision of a trained medical staff.
Safia praised the efforts of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association and the Pink Caravan over 10 years in spreading awareness and supporting women.
