The initiative aims to instill a love of learning by teaching students in a variety of subjects, including mathematics, Arabic, social studies, and Quran memorisation.
The oldest of the female students is 79 years old, and their ages span from 60 to 99.
Mariam Al Shamsi, the Al Hamriyah branch's director, stated, "We took part in the Sharjah Education Council's "Education is Life's Light" initiative five years ago, with the objective of providing education for senior citizens. Female students in literacy classes are all members of the department's "Al-Asala Club."
"During the Corona pandemic, they preferred to stay at home, so we gave educational opportunities virtually," she said. "After the pandemic subsided, the study became available virtually and in attendance.
"The Curriculum of the Initiative was developed in three different levels and was authored by a group of academics and educators with experience in preparing curriculum with the approval of the University of Sharjah," according to Al Shamsi.
