Sharjah 24: Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion in the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), revealed that the Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work received more than 500 requests for volunteers who registered their names on the centre’s volunteer platform, within 24 hours, in order to participate in the “We Stand Together” campaign.
This comes in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to provide support to the victims of torrential rains and floods in Pakistan.
Al Hammadi stated that this initiative falls within the framework of national contributions and "social responsibility services" that the Department of Community Cohesion believes in as an essential element of the tasks entrusted to it, to contribute to achieving the goals of the campaign.
She indicated that this humanitarian event coincides with the International Day of Charitable Action, as the UAE united its efforts to support the Republic of Pakistan, which is currently suffering from the effects of devastating seasonal floods, as it launched the national "We Stand Together" campaign to promote Its role is to provide an urgent relief package led by Emirati humanitarian institutions at the state level.
