SEWA receives 5,539 requests for services connection

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) received 5,539 requests to connect electricity and water, along with the approval of plans to various commercial and industrial projects.
This included 845 requests for permanent electricity connection and 1,070 requests to approve plans for commercial projects. In addition to 699 requests for permanent electricity connection for industrial projects, as well as approving 969 plans. 

In the water sector, the SEWA received 491 requests for permanent water connection and 463 requests to approve plans for commercial projects. In addition to 470 requests for permanent water connection and approved plans for 532 requests in the industrial sector.

These requests came between the beginning of January 2022 until the end of August 2022.

Engineer Ibrahim Al Balgoni, Director of Shared Services Department at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), clarified that the energy sector is one of the main sectors that affect economic growth in the Emirate of Sharjah, and energy is the backbone of the economic process, highlighting that the authority focused on implementing programmes and policies that ensure the availability and delivery of services in accordance with the best specifications and facilitating procedures, which contributes to achieving sustainable development.

He stressed that the authority works in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, to ensure the continuity of electricity, water and gas services in accordance with the highest standards.
