Sharjah 24: Ibrahim Al Hosani, coach of the UAE national jiu-jitsu team, confirmed that jiu-jitsu has become one of the important and prominent sports thanks to the support and interest of the wise leadership in youth and athletes and their keenness to provide all means of success.
He indicated that the strategy of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in developing this sport, especially in the northern regions, is to reach all players in the various regions that contain distinctive talent in this sport and contribute to building a strong generation with high capabilities. In addition to spreading the culture of jiu-jitsu and promoting tolerance, as well as raising the efficiency of organising local and international jiu-jitsu championships
He added by praising the efforts of clubs interested in this sport, the most prominent of which is the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, which was established 6 years ago, and during this short period it managed to achieve many exceptional achievements and numbers at the local and international levels.
He stressed that jiu-jitsu has become an important sport thanks to the support and vision of the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in young people and athletes in the Emirate of Sharjah. In addition to the care of His Excellency Abdulmunam Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, to all those interested in the sport of jiu-jitsu and his keenness to reach the largest possible segment of players in the various emirates of the country.
He praised the great role played by the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club headed by His Excellency Ahmed Al Owais and members of the Board of Directors, lauding their distinguished policy in attracting players and supporting them to achieve the best results and raising the flag of the nation in all international forums. In addition to the support provided by the Sharjah Sports Council, which contributes to the club’s players continuing their local and international success in jiu-jitsu.
