Thirteen clubs are participating in the tournament, including five clubs representing clubs of the Disabled. The contest aims to discover and determine the levels of new and unclassified talents in chess and develop sportsmanship among the participants.
Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of Al Thiqah Club, confirmed that chess is one of the new sports that the club has included. It has received significant demand from the club’s members, noting that these participations aim to train and develop the mental, physical, social, and psychological capabilities of people with disabilities, and to implant self-confidence in them, which motivates them to creativity and success
