Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended Wednesday morning, the 35th Summer Police Friends graduation ceremony for 2022, which was held at the Culture Palace in Sharjah.
The one-month Sharjah Police Friends Summer Programme, organised by the Media and Public Relations Department, the Sharjah Police Academy, and the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, aimed to raise the level of students’ acquired skills, enhance their self-confidence, and refine their personality as well as boosting their knowledge of the role of security agencies in promoting national loyalty and belonging.

After rendition of the UAE National Anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the graduates’ presented a military parade that included swearing an oath to the United Arab Emirates, infantry formations, and dismantling and assembling weapons, which are among the skills that the course supervisors trained them on, besides other programmes that embody values of loyalty and patriotism.

This was followed by a presentation of a film about the Police Friends course this year, and the most important theoretical and practical activities and events that the students witnessed during the course, which included military training and a variety of events, programmes, visits and lectures, all of which had a positive and significant impact on the trainees in terms of investing leisure time through guidance and awareness, instilling the concepts of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, developing skills in various fields.

After that, Khalifa Ahmed Al Mazrouei and Noura Abdullah Al Hammadi, Police Friends members, gave a speech on behalf of the graduates, in which they expressed their happiness at the opportunity for them and their colleagues to participate in this year's course, as the summer programme contributed to honing their skills and employing their energies in various police and security aspects through training on a variety of activities, in addition to carrying out beneficial field visits.

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured the graduate students of the Police Friends Programme for this year, and the sponsors that contributed to the success of the summer programme.

The honouring ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy’ general managers and their deputies, a number of directors of departments, and parents of graduate students.
