The new board members will put forward projects and initiatives aligned with the council’s mission and vision and according to their field of expertise to assist business women. The Chairperson will appoint a team to execute the approved projects, which the designated board member will oversee.
The new board members are: Nada Ali Al Lawati for technology sector; Olympia Tabash for perfume and beauty sectors; Nawal Alnuaimi, for food and beverages sector; Amna Al Shara, for trade and real estate sectors; Shurooq Al Midfa, for jewellery and fashion sectors; and Dr Shatha Alaay as adviser to the board’s committees.
The new board will develop strategies to advance sectors; equip women with the necessary skills and expertise to enter the job market; conduct monthly meetings with the Chairperson to update her on the progress and latest developments in the projects on hand, and represent SBWC in all official tasks assigned by the Chairperson.
Commenting on the new board, Sheikha Hind said: “We have great confidence in the new board as it comprises successful female entrepreneurs who have ensured women’s role in community development and in the management of businesses in different sectors. We are certain of their ability to make qualitative and accelerated inputs to Sharjah’s developmental journey and thereby realise the ambitions of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of NAMA.”
