Sharjah24: Based on Emiri Decree No. (17) of 2022 regarding the restructuring of Sharjah Municipal Council (SMC), the Council held its third meeting of the seventeenth annual term headed by Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Council.
The meeting was attended by Khalifa Musabeh Al Tunaiji, Head of The Department of Municipalities Affairs, Agriculture and Livestock Resources (DMAAL); Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al Zaabi, Head of the Municipal Affairs Department; Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality; Majid Bukhatir, Secretary of the Council, and other members of the Council.

Al Muhairi started the meeting by expressing his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the valuable trust he placed in the Council through renewal.

He extended his gratitude to Dr. Engineer Khalifa Al Tunaiji for his efforts to enhance the work of municipal councils. Furthermore, he congratulated him on his appointment as head of DMAAL.

Al Muhairi also extended his warmest congratulations to Dr. Suleiman Al Zaabi on his appointment as head of the Municipal Affairs Department.

The VP of the Council was elected by secret ballot and in the presence of the majority of the members. Abdullah bin Hamouda Al Ketbi, Aisha Al Mutawa and Walid bin Dimas, and after the votes were equal between Al Ketbi and bin Dimas, it was agreed to name Dr. Abdullah bin Hamouda Al-Ketbi, Vice-President of the Council.

The Chairman and members expressed their gratitude Dr. Ali bin Darwish, the former VP of the Council, noting his efforts in developing the work of the committees from the thirteenth to seventeenth annual term.
