Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi inaugurates 14th SRF

Sharjah 24: On May 18, 2022, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, opened the 14th Annual Scientific Research Forum (SRF) of the University of Sharjah in Al-Razi Hall in the Medical and Health Colleges Complex with the theme "Innovative Research with Societal Impact ."
Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, delivered a speech thanking Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for attending the forum, and he also reviewed the advanced positions that the University of Sharjah has achieved in a number of scientific fields, such as sustainable development and commitment to clean environmental standards, in addition to scientific and academic excellence and the prestigious positions of faculty members in the field of international scientific research.
He said that this year's forum features 10 scientific projects from diverse university research groups, 7 research projects by undergraduate students, and 8 projects by graduate students.
Dr Muammar Beltayeb, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sharjah for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, addressed the significant advancement in scientific research infrastructure at the University of Sharjah, which provides an appealing research climate for researchers and graduate students. There are more than 40 labs for different subjects, 66 research groups, and 8 research centres at the university.
The CEO of Yukon Venture at the University of Connecticut in the United States was the keynote speaker at the opening of the forum. In his speech, he talked about how important scientific research and innovation are in academic institutions. He also praised the University of Sharjah's efforts and experience in scientific research and innovation and encouraged students.
At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured the faculty members who received annual incentive awards in the fields of scientific research, teaching, and special accolades for contributing to the university's service in a variety of sectors. He also gave professors and students the Sharjah Islamic Bank Awards for Scientific Research.
