Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Age-Friendly Office of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) has issued a booklet of models of practices provided by the Emirate of Sharjah for the elderly.
This aims to encourage all government and private institutions to provide services that benefit senior citizens in the country and make an attractive environment that inspires in them hope, giving and participation.

According to Asma Al Khodari, Director of the Sharjah Age-Friendly Office, the booklet also documents the progress achieved by the Emirate of Sharjah. In addition to efforts resulting from the diligent follow-up carried out by the office with institutions in the Emirate to achieve the goals desired and its vision of being an age-friendly city, making an ideal environment for people of all ages to live in.

The booklet was prepared in line with the eight global axes of age-friendly cities that contribute to the exchange of information and experiences, as well as benefit from the practices presented in them, whether inside or outside the country, which enhances Sharjah's position and makes it a model and competitive destination for the region.

The office addresses the various governmental departments and other institutions, according to the previous agreements concluded, with a message to the other departments to work on implementing practices, in order to provide the opportunity for all departments and institutions to view them and apply them.
