Sharjah24: The Sharjah Child Friendly Office (SCFO), an affiliate of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), is hosting an array of activities, competitions, and events at the 13th annual Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF), running in Expo Centre Sharjah (Stand #6 in Hall 5) until May 22.
SCFO calling on children and families to visit its pavilion and partake in the various edutainment and lively activities the entity has designed to further its mission to promoting the wellbeing of children and families in Sharjah and the UAE.  

During its SCRF 2022 participation, SCFO is showcasing its plentiful achievements that was attained by working in collaboration with relevant local and international bodies to design and implement targeted strategies and programmes to safeguard the rights of children and youth, and enhance their wellbeing, thereby reinforcing Sharjah’s status as a child friendly city. 

The office is also showcasing its new book that was published after acquiring its copyright titled “Mother’s Milk”, written and illustrated by Matsuoka Tatsuhide and translated by Maher El Sherbini. The picture book centres on the special emotional bond between mother and child. The picture book is a special emotional representation of the unbreakable attachment/bond between mother and child and its positive impact on children’s health and wellbeing. 

Dr. Hessa Al Ghazal, Executive Director of SCFO, said: “At SCFO, we dedicated efforts to promote our objectives and initiatives on key public platforms, particularly those targeting children, youth, and parents.  Our participation in SCRF – the region’s largest festival of its kind for the young generations – is a key opportunity to educate families about child-friendly values and practices and to teach them ways to effectively adopt them across the facets of family, society, the environment, and beyond. Strengthening the bond between parents and their children from their early ages has always been our underlining objective to ensure their physical safety and emotional wellbeing.
