Sharjah Taxi distributes 15,000 meals during Ramadan

Sharjah24: Sharjah Taxi (ST), a subsidiary of Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, distributed 15,000 Iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan; 500 meals per day were issued to taxi drivers working across various regions of the emirate, with the aim of achieving the values of benevolence and giving. The initiative was carried out in cooperation with Sharjah Charity International.
Khalid Al Kindi, Executive Director of Sharjah Taxi, said, "This charitable work, carried out during the month of goodness, is an embodiment of the noble values that the blessed month urges. It is done in order to strengthen the ties that spread the spirit of cooperation, belonging and solidarity among members of society. In addition, it aims to achieve the targets of Sharjah Taxi in meeting its social responsibility as well as deepening the principle of social and human solidarity among members of its community."

Al Kindi emphasized the importance of organizing such charitable and community events, which provide moral and practical support to drivers, whilst enhancing and consolidating brotherly relations between workers. He said that spreading the spirit of brotherhood and love among them reflects positively on the work environment, ensuring the improvement and efficiency of their performance.

Sharjah Taxi distributed daily Iftar meals, under the supervision and presence of a number of Sharjah Taxi employees and Sharjah Charity International to ensure the smooth and safe distribution of meals to drivers.

In discussion, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, said: “This project is one of the most important of the Ramadan campaign. It embodies the principles of social solidarity and deepens partnerships between the association and other participating institutions from the public and private sectors.” He noted that the initiative was launched by Sharjah Taxi in cooperation with the association. "It strengthens charitable partnerships and opens the door for institutions to perform their social responsibilities. Ramadan is a time when many deserving groups can be targeted through such initiatives, where solidarity and co-operation play such an important role."
