Sharjah24: Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) confirmed that the public parking in the emirate will be free from the first day of Eid al-Fitr until Thursday, corresponding to 5/5/2022, with the exception of parking spaces subject to fees throughout the week and official holidays.
The Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) confirmed its readiness to welcome the occasion of Eid al-Fitr according to a set of plans and procedures that its inspection teams are working on in various fields, aiming to provide the ideal atmosphere for residents and visitors in the smiling emirate and increase joy and happiness during the blessed Eid.
This comes in line with its keenness to provide various services in accordance with the best standards, and enhance its societal role. The municipality has provided various work teams to perform this role and promote communication with the public.
In this context, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality (SCM), confirmed the importance of intensifying its inspection visits to different food preparation facilities that witness a great turnout during Eid, to ensure its commitment to providing safe food to consumers in accordance with the best health standards. These inspection campaigns come in line with the intensive campaigns organised by the Municipality during the holy month of Ramadan and the periodic campaigns that it carries out on a daily basis.
The Municipality is also intensifying its efforts to inspect barbershops and beauty centers, which are also witnessing a high turnout, as the specialised inspection teams will follow up the work of these facilities and take administrative measures against any abuses or the use of any prohibited materials during the provision of the service.
Al Tunaiji has further stressed the SCM’s efforts in ensuring the safety of the public while implementing its inspection campaigns, through monitoring any negative behaviours in different areas and taking the necessary measures in this regard.
The Director General of Sharjah Municipality stated that public parking is free from the first day of Eid until Thursday, 5/5/2022, with the exception of parking spaces subject to fees throughout the week and official holidays, which can be inferred through the blue plates installed on the directional signs for public parking. Inspection teams will continue to monitor any misuse of parking spaces.
He also noted that the parks are open to the public from 4 PM until 10 PM, and the Sharjah National Park receives the public from 7:30 AM until twelve midnight.
The Municipality called on the public to communicate with it through the call center on the number 993 to report any violations or observations, as it takes all calls around the clock.
