This came during his speech, on Saturday, at the Alumni Association ceremony of the University of Sharjah, which was held at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.
In his speech, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed welcomed the attendees, saying, “We welcome you to this first meeting with graduates of the University of Sharjah, this distinguished university founded by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and we are proud of its distinguished graduates in all fields.”
President of University of Sharjah added, stressing the keenness to take care of university students, saying a while ago I listened to a meeting with the heads of scientific and cultural clubs and student councils, and told them that we are doing our best to keep your university in advanced positions always, even if it was time to graduate, you said to everyone, "We are graduates from University of Sharjah and we are proud”.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed announced the scientific development and high position of the university, which is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding, and stressed that the University of Sharjah at the end of the academic year will celebrate its silver jubilee, and will be declared among the 100 most powerful young universities in the world, according to the classification of the Times Organization International University Assessment. The University of Sharjah is also the first at the state level in the fields of sustainable development, and at the (119) in the world, and it is the first at the state level in medicine, health sciences, computing and informatics sciences, physics, space sciences and astronomy, and the second in engineering and technology, and it ranges between (250) ) and (300) globally in these disciplines, and the first in the country in sober scientific research, according to the data of Scopus International.
Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of University of Sharjah concluded his speech by stressing that the university would like those who graduated from it to be remembered with love and gratitude, and this is what we learned from His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah.
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, after which Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, gave a speech in which he thanked Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for sponsoring and attending the annual ceremony of the Alumni Association, which reflects His Highness’s unlimited interest in everything related to students and alumni.
The Director of the University of Sharjah pointed out that the Alumni Association represents a major part of the university's relations with the community, with all its specializations and works, through its graduates spread in all work facilities and various fields of community service, which makes them have multiple roles.
Then, the audience watched a visual presentation that dealt with the progress of the University of Sharjah since its establishment, the great efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness's insightful vision in the care and follow-up of all the affairs of the university until it became one of the largest universities in the region.
For her part, Dr. Hanadi Obeid Al Suwaidi, President of the Alumni Association for the current session, gave a speech in which she praised what the University of Sharjah offers to its students and graduates at all levels, scientific, cultural and social, which explains the prestigious position that the university occupies locally, regionally and internationally through various classifications.
At the end of the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured the sponsors, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Media City, and Tilal Real Estate.
His Highness received a souvenir from the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of the University of Sharjah.
The ceremony was attended by a number of Sharjah government officials, members of the University's Board of Trustees and members of the administrative and teaching bodies.
