Sharjah24: The Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan each year, is observed throughout the region to commemorate the death of the Founding Leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, where Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD) distributed 1,800 Iftar meals to workers in the city of Sharjah and the Eastern region of the Emirate of Sharjah, as part of the “Goodness Seekers" initiative to distribute Iftar meals to those observing fasts this month.
The event continues to be implemented yearly, and has for the past several years served to accomplish the RERD's social responsibility programmes, in an effort to promote the principles of cooperation and giving.
Promoting the spirit of benevolence and honouring the values of giving, and human solidarity
His Excellency Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stressed the importance of this initiative in promoting the spirit of benevolence, provide aid to needy people. He recalls the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as an extremely charitable man who instilled this passion in his people the values of giving, and human solidarity in the United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, highlighted the blessed month of Ramadan, a time when muslims globally are reminded to indulge in charitable and humanitarian works. The (RERD) hopes to inspire the community at large to seek their own initiatives and voluntary activities, to strengthen bonds of interdependence and communication within society. The United Arab Emirates is a role model to the world in regards to humanitarianism and charitable giving, and will continue to be at the forefront of this initiative for many more years to come.
The employees of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department participated in distributing Iftar meals to workers in the Al Sajaa Industrial area as well as a number of other sites that witness a large presence of Labours. Also, the employees of the RERD in Kalba branch, distributed Iftar meals at the Eastern region, who relished the healthy meals, as a source of comfort during the holy month.
