Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, witnessed Wednesday evening, the launch of the 29th edition of the Ramadan Sports Tournament of the Sharjah Police, organised by the Sports and Social Activities Department of the Media and Public Relations Department of the Sharjah Police Club.
Attending the tournament, which will run until 20 Ramadan, were general managers, directors of departments, officers and non-commissioned officers, members of the organising committee for the events, with the wide participation of police employees from various departments.
The Ramadan tournament includes a package of sports competitions, including football, volleyball, tug of war, electronic games, billiards, padel tennis and archery, in addition to competitions for the women's component that included volleyball, basketball, and archery.
Major General Saif Al Shamsi confirmed that the Ramadan tournament is a sports programme organised annually during the month of Ramadan augmented by the past years successes of the tournament in supporting police sports, and strengthening the bonds of social cohesion and fraternal interaction among the police members.
