Sultan bin Ahmed crowns Al Zirak with 'Sharjah Munshid 13' title

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, crowned, on Thursday, Zakaria Al Zirak from the Kingdom of Morocco, with the title of the Sharjah Munshid programme in its 13th edition, organised by Sharjah TV of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), in a closing ceremony, held on Al Majaz Amphitheatre.

Six munshids from different Arab countries qualified for the final evening, and competed for the programme’s award. 



Ahmed Samreen from Jordan won the second place, and Aseel Jaber from Algeria won the third place. 



The winners of the first three places won the Sharjah Munshid awards in its current edition after receiving the highest percentage of votes from the audience, and the jury that included the Tunisian artist Lotfi Bushnak, the Emirati Ahmed Bukhatir, and from Egypt Mahmoud Yassin Al Tohamy.



The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, during the ceremony, viewed "Sharjah's Fiftieth", with the participation of munshids in the 13th edition, which carried meanings of pride in the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, remembering the high level the Emirate reached, including the many developmental achievements that made it a model for cities of knowledge and science, and a symbol of culture.



During the closing ceremony, the attendees listened to a group of performances presented by the finalists in the final evening, which won the admiration of the jury on the performance levels reached through the elaborate training of the programme's trainers.

The committee commended the munshids' abilities to move between maqams and chant melodies professionally, indicating that they possess talent, with a promising future, fulfilling one of the goals of the Sharjah Munshid programme.



The ceremony witnessed the international artist Maher Zain presenting a number of poems and performances. He also presented "Ramadan" on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.



At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured those who supported the programme, namely: Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA). 

The award was received by Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the SCTDA, Sharjah Cooperative Society, Sharjah Asset Management, and Fast Building Contracting Company.
