Sharjah 24: On Tuesday, Sharjah Charity International (SCI) laid the foundation for its largest mosque in the UAE, in Al Muradda 3, in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, in the presence of Ali Muhammad Al Rashidi, Head of Resources and Investment Department, and Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al Ali, Acting Director of Projects and External Aid, and Deputy Director of the Department of Building and Maintaining Mosques at Sharjah Islamic Affairs, Engineer Abdullah Al Yasi, and the Project Management Officer at the Society, Engineer Khalifa Al Saadi.
Ali Muhammad Al Rashidi said, laying the foundation for the Al Mawrada 3 Mosque, is a good news for the benefactors whose support and benevolence led to the implementation of the mosque. The mosque is scheduled to be built on an area of 1120 square meters, and can accommodate about 1120 worshipers, men and women, and thus is the largest mosque of SCI in the UAE, and comes at a cost of 6.5 million dirhams, and includes a number of facilities and services.
Ali Muhammad Al Rashidi added that the SCI, with this venerable project, continues its approach towards contributing to what the benefactors do to build the houses of God through community participation programmes in cooperation with Sharjah Islamic Affairs, as building mosques is one of the most beloved deeds to God and the benefactors always take the initiative to support these projects, in accordance with what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever builds a house for God, God will build for him a house in Paradise”, and from this point of view, SCI was keen to continue this project inside and outside the UAE.
Ali Muhammad Al Rashidi explained that the total number of mosques that have been established, within the UAE, in recent years has reached 23 mosques at a cost of 60 million dirhams. He extended his thanks to the donors who contributed to the completion of these mosques of different sizes and designs.
