Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Children (SC), affiliated to the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, have qualified for the global competition (VEX IQ), which will be held in the United States of America at the beginning of next May.
This came after the participating children achieved advanced results in the preliminary qualifiers for the competition, which was held on Saturday, fifth of March, at the Child Centre in Al Raqqa, organised by the SC and the STEMA Centre for Training and Development.

Six teams from SC and a team from STEMA Centre participated in the qualifiers, in the presence of an audience of children and their parents, and a group of private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The results of the winning teams were as follows: Team (A) from SC won the award for the best team in teamwork, in partnership with team (C) from STEMA Centre, while team (D) from SC won the award for the best design among the participating robots. Team (D) from the SC won the award for the best design among the participating robots. Team (C) from STEMA Centre won the award for the most distinguished team.

It is worth noting that the qualifying system was based on a set of criteria, where the participating teams took collective and individual challenges to measure the level of the teams’ skills and collect points, along with the completion of the engineering book that explains the engineering design steps for building the robot and its explanation to the jury.
