Sharjah 24: The Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, introduced the aspects of children’s interactions and the optimal use of modern technologies, as well as the permanent control over their contents.
In a public lecture organised by the Wadi Al Helo Public Library of Sharjah Department of Culture, the topic of digitisation and programming was tackled in the presence of parents and children.

At the beginning of the lecture, His Excellency Salem Khamis Al Mazrouei welcomed the participation of His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout to the Wadi Al Helo Public Library to give an important lecture on children’s dealing with modern technologies, offering him thanks and praise for his participation and interaction with community events.

Al Barout highlighted the themes of his lecture in addressing the smart programmes and applications used by children and how to use them safely so that children wouldn’t face problems. He stressed the importance of dealing well with these applications and benefiting from them in a way that helps the child to excel in all areas.

Al Barout reviewed with families and children, their point of view on using tablets and their role in creativity and skills development, in addition to their impact on the health and intelligence of the child.

In the course of the lecture, Al Barout explained that digitisation is one of the new and important terms, and in its simplest meanings, digitisation indicates the process of transformation from traditional methods of providing services to electronic systems, including smart applications, and he added that digitisation is one of the global goals sought by all countries to be implemented in all fields of production and services.

Al Barout pointed out that the Corona pandemic contributed to achieving a shift in the use of digitisation, especially in remote education, noting that many were surprised when they discovered that the virtual world is not very different from the real world.

Al Barout addressed the role of the family in digital transformation, noting that the family has a major role in supporting digitisation and digital transformation, through a number of roles, including learning and self-training for parents on technology tools and increasing their share of technology culture.

In the lecture, Al Barout stressed the importance of group discussions with parents on new technical tools and means, encouraging children to build digital skills by enhancing understanding of new technologies, as well as the participation of children in some smart groups and applications.
