Sharjah24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced the issuance of a 51 new license investment parking lots in different areas of the city, in line with its efforts to provide regular parking and enhance the aesthetic appearance. Through these yards, the municipality seeks to provide parking spaces on an ongoing basis and add flexibility in choosing parking locations.
Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Director of the Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that investment yards are one of the options available for regular parking in all areas of the city, and constitute an important addition to public parking subject to fees provided by the municipality to facilitate the public.
Abu Ghazin explained that the total investment yards in Sharjah amounted to 294 yards containing more than 19,500 parking spaces, and it provides customers with the ability to park in them for a fee, whether in hours, weeks, months or years.
He noted that the institution or investor is granted a permit to practice this commercial activity and install an indicative board showing the name of the facility and the numbers of parking lots and fees. The municipality also protects these facilities from misuse of operations, such as standing for long periods without paying fees, wrong parking, or climbing on sidewalks to enter these squares, it is also keen to protect the rights of dealers by preventing price hikes.
