Sharjah24: The Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), will host the virtual intellectual forum "Reading in parallel with writing... knowledge leads to knowledge" on March 8, International Women's Day, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The forum will feature Dr Diaa Al-Kaabi of- Bahrain, Dr Maryam Al-Hashimi - UAE, Dr Aziza Al-Tai - Oman, and Dr Haifa Fida - Saudi Arabia, as well as an opening speech by Salha Ghabish, Head of the Office, and the jury's speech by Dr Badia Al-Hashemi, as well as poetry readings by poet Sheikha Al-Mutairi.
Many important topics are discussed in the forum, including the impact of reading on society's civilization, the distinction between reading in it authentic and translated languages, the differences between a paper book and an e- book, as well as the reality and future of e-reading.
Salha Ghabish, Head of Cultural and Media Office, stated that the award was established years ago during an International Women's Day celebration by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs, as the first of its kind targeting women in the GCC countries.
