Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality announced the growth of the contractual value of construction permits in the city of Sharjah during the past year, reaching 16755 billion dirhams, which reflects the great role of played by Sharjah in attracting and providing facilities to investors.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, stressed that Sharjah is a model to be followed thanks to the wise visions and directions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his unlimited support to enhance Sharjah’s position globally.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji stated that the engineering and buildings sector achieved many achievements during the past year in various fields, including those related to the development of infrastructure and services, which contributed to engineering growth in the emirate, as 55379 engineering permits were issued.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji added that transactions submitted electronically reached 42% during the past year, indicating that these percentages will continue to improve after the completion of the digital transformation project for the engineering and buildings sector.
The Building Permits Department completed 4622 applications for accrediting engineering plans, 2724 building permits, and 2533 certificates for accrediting engineering plans.
The Department of Engineering and Building Management issued, during the past year, 3990 certificates of completion, with a growth rate of 25% over 2020, which ensures the continuity of the availability of residential, commercial and industrial units, and creates a economic growth in investment rates in Sharjah.
