Sharjah 24: On Monday, the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan convened its 41st general meeting at the Resistance Monument, where it reviewed a variety of issues and development plans aimed at enhancing services in many areas and addressing community needs. Dr Rashid Khamis Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Council, chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Eng. Fawzia Rashid Al-Qadi, Director of Khor Fakkan Municipality, Council members, and the Council Secretary.
Al-Naqbi informed Sharjah 24 that the meeting discussed a number of development proposals for the city's monthly Saturday's livestock and bird market, which the council's administration is keen to support and promote due to its role in serving producers and farm owners, as well as its contribution to the city's livestock output.

He added that the council directed the municipality to develop an action plan that includes conducting a field survey in various areas of the city to ascertain the status of abandoned or exposed wells - if any - and covering them to improve the security and safety of residents, particularly children, and urging parents to monitor their children and adequately protect them from the dangers of swimming pools in their homes and adopt the required preventative steps.
