Sharjah 24: The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, directed the updating of the operating system of the institutions affiliated under the umbrella of the foundation.
This includes Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah for Capability Development, in order for the centres to add to their current plans, programmes and events that are presented during the weekend. Thus, the centres open their doors to their members in the evening period from Monday to Thursday, and the morning and evening periods on Saturday and Sunday, except for Friday, which is an official holiday for all centres.
This decision comes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to adopt a change in the weekly leave system to become the weekend on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This decision creates a valuable opportunity to invest the time available during the weekend in developing the energies of children and youth. In addition to ensuring the maximum possible benefit from this extra time, and to develop their abilities by continuing to engage in the hobbies and activities offered by institutions in various tracks such as arts, science, technology, sports, entrepreneurship and other life skills.
On this, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi stated that the emergence of Rubu' Qarn’s institution is linked to the keenness of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to create a stimulating and safe environment for the people of the Emirate to explore their energies in a creative atmosphere that embraces all talents.
Her Highness continued that with the start of the implementation of the new system of the weekend, to keep pace with this change, not only by committing to implementing the decision, but also by reaching the goals required of it by achieving a better balance for family life and consolidating the social bond, a new plan of action was developed in the institutions, In order to continue to hone the skills of the younger generation with a focus on achieving the greatest benefit that defines the personality of children as leaders, innovators, and ambassadors of their country in various regional and international forums.
Her Highness added that the most important characteristic of the community institutions is the flexibility to keep pace with the process of development and change, and the Rubu’ Qarn institutions have always been unique in providing well-thought-out programmes based in their plans on skills that serve the time changes imposed by continuous developments, whether they are technical, professional or personal.
Her Highness maintained that with the entry a new era of change, the work teams in the Rubu’ Qarn institutions hastened to draw up flexible and compatible strategies with this change, in order for the institutions to integrate in the implementation of their action plans that serve children and youth. In addition to building the Emirati human personality by achieving the maximum benefit from multiple paths, and translating the plans into initiatives that serve the goals of community development.
In the same context, Her Highness stressed the importance of the pivotal role of the family in continuing to care for and contain the talents of children, starting with the decision to join the Rubu' Qarn institutions, to encouraging them to continue supporting their talents and developing their capabilities through the programmes that will be presented at the weekend, highlighting that the family that support that children and youth receive has a long-term impact on refining the personality of the individuals, who uses their energies in serving his community, which they rely on to advance the country with complete confidence towards the future.
Under the directives of Her Highness, in this regard, the temporal and geographical scope of the distinguished programmes offered by Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah for Capability Development, expand allowing for activities and events to areas closer to the target groups of the public and implementing them in several regions in the Emirate.
The approved plan also includes intensive implementation of programmes and events that serve youth energies during the new work system. The centres will open their doors on Mondays to Thursdays, from five to eight in the evening, and on Saturdays and Sundays, starting from eleven in the morning until eight in the evening. The plan that takes into account children's abilities and their need for daily rest in a way that does not conflict with the times of the school system.
