Sharjah Club Champion of the UAE open Taekondo for the 5th time

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Taekwondo champions managed to retain the title of the UAE Open Taekwondo Championship, men’s category and were crowned champions for the fifth time in a row, in the championship hosted by Ittihad Kalba Club. Sharjah Club champions were able to obtain 10 coloured medals, including 6 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze, collecting 72 points in the tournament where 12 UAE clubs participated.
His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, praised the achieved result by individual games from Sharjah teams who controlled a number of games and became exclusive to Sharjah Club.

Al Midfa stated that Sharjah Club has plans and strategies aimed at supporting players and providing the UAE teams with the best players, indicating that the board of directors spares no effort in providing all the games needs, to honour the name and position of the club internally and raise the UAE flag externally.
The chairman of the board of directors pointed out that preserving the gains is one of the most important axes, on which the club rests, and the board of directors works on the principle of continuity, communication between generations and the exchange of experiences among the players, to achieve the desired goal.


Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, member of the Sharjah Sports Club Board of Directors and head of the Individual Games Department, explained that winning the UAE Open Championship for the fifth time in a row is evidence of the great work done by all parties, and it is the fruit of the efforts of the administrative and technical staff led by Captain Abdullah Hatem and players who have reached an advanced stage of readiness and experience.

The head of individual games indicated that the club realised a competitive level in taekwondo, and has become the champion of the local arena, in addition to the club achievements in all foreign participations.

Al Hajri pointed out that the Taekwondo team is one of the best UAE teams, praising the great work of the technical staff in developing the players skills in a way that suits the tournaments, which have become exclusive to the Sharjah Club.

Al Hajri concluded by congratulating the heroes on this distinguished result, extended thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for the continuous support in providing all means of success for sports teams, and to the Board of Directors for the unlimited support.
