Sharjah 24: The first payments of 2022 educational support were provided by Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) (Al Tamkeen) to 25 affiliated orphan students, whereas students received computers with a value of approximately 60 thousand dirhams, as part of the efforts made in the educational “Allama Bil Qalam” project (Taught by the pen) aiming at providing academic support to enhance sustainable learning for orphans, to harness the best means, and to ensure the quality of their education.
Nawal Al Hamdi, Director of the Social Welfare Department at SSEF, stated that since its establishment, the Foundation has worked to take care of all the necessities of its orphaned children, and has devoted a large space to the educational aspect, as a commitment to identify the necessary needs of orphaned students, and to reduce school expenses imposed on their mothers.

Nawal Al Hamdi added that the “Allama Bil Qalam” project plays an essential and complementary role whereas it includes comprehensive educational and cognitive programmes for students, which continue throughout their study from the primary stage until graduation.

Nawal Al Hamdi stressed the importance of cooperation between the different society segments including individuals and institutions, in the “Allama Bil Qalam” project and all SSEF initiatives, which provide humanitarian support and necessary needs for the families of orphans. The Foundation ensures that the beneficiaries obtain their necessary needs and relieves the burdens, and in turn, SSEF appreciates the solidarity of all those who contributed to provide this new batch of computers, looking forward to supporting all the needs of the families of affiliated orphans.

The "“Allama Bil Qalam” project provides a number of support programmes to ensure the continuation of students education throughout the year. These programmes vary between providing educational supplies and the necessary educational needs, whether at school or university. The "“Allama Bil Qalam” project also provides the educational fees payment programme that contributes to paying or reducing them tuition for orphaned students, and the University Scholarship Programme, which is keen to create opportunities for higher education grants for outstanding orphans from high school graduates.
