SEWA to rehabilitate Al Hamriyah water desalination plant

Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has signed an agreement with a group of companies specialising in rehabilitating Al Hamriyah Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant, raising production efficiency to maximum capacity of 20 million gallons per day to provide pure water for Sharjah and Al Hamriyah at a cost of more than AED29.5 million.
Essam Al Mulla, Director of Water and Desalination Plants Department, explained that this project comes in implementation of the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, to raise the level of infrastructure projects.

He pointed out that the authority signed an agreement contract with Metito Company, specialising in building and rehabilitating seawater production and desalination plants. The project will be completed within 12 months.

He explained that preparing Al Hamriyah desalination plant to operate with a maximum total production capacity of 20 million gallons keeping pace with urban expansion in Sharjah to improve water quality.
